Upon arrival to the Zagreb airport, you will have a group transfer directly to your hotel. Tonight, enjoy a Welcome Dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight in Zagreb.

Day 2 – Zagreb, Croatia (B, L)
May 6
This morning we will do a walking tour of the Croatian capital today where you will learn about Zagreb’s rich history by wandering through the Upper Town’s red-roof and cobblestone glory, peppered with church spires. Crane your neck to see the domes and ornate upper-floor frippery of the Lower Town’s mash-up of secessionist, neo-baroque and art deco buildings. Search out the grittier pockets of town where ugly-gland concrete walls have been transformed into colourful murals by local street artists. The tour will include a ride on Zagreb Funicular, the shortest funicular in the world but also the oldest and first means of public transportation in Zagreb.
Next up is a culinary workshop providing a hands-on experience where you will be immersed in Croatian cuisine and culinary traditions. Learn what influences the Croatian gastronomy and the ingredients that are commonly used in local dishes. Overnight in Zagreb.
Day 3 – Zagreb – Ljubljana, Slovenia (B)
May 7
Today we make our way to Ljubljana, the capital and largest city of Slovenia. Ljubljana lies in a basin between the Karst and the alpine region and is sufficiently large to contain everything that a capital should have, and small enough to preserve the individuality of its inhabitants. It is a city with a soul, featured by the Baroque Old Town nestled at the foot of Castel Hill, the Art Nouveau mansions as well as some of the masterpieces of the world-renowned architect Jose Plecnik. Ljubljana nowadays presents the political, cultural, scientific and university centre of Slovenia. In Ljubljana you will explore the Old Town full of ornate facades and romantic bridges, as well as its prominent landmark, the Castle, dating back from the ninth century. Enjoy a walking tour of Ljubljana with an English-speaking guide. Evening at leisure. Overnight in Ljubljana.

Day 4 – Ljubljana - Lake Bled - Ljubljana (B, L)

Today is devoted to exploring one of Slovenian gems – Bled Lake, which together with its surroundings, ranks among the most beautiful alpine resorts, known for its mild, healing climate and thermal lake water. The beauty of the mountains reflected on the lake, the sun, the serenity and the fresh air arouse the pleasant feelings in visitors throughout the year. You will visit Bled Castle, a symbol of Bled and Slovenia which is among the country’s best-preserved and maintained citadels. We will have lunch at a local restaurant in Bled before returning to Ljubljana. Overnight in Ljubljana.
Day 5 – Ljubljana – Postojna Cave - Opatija (B)
May 9
As we depart Ljubljana and make our way to Opatija, we will make a stop to visit Postojna Cave – one of the most captivating caves in this part of the world and the largest show cave in Europe. Postojna is the only karst cave with a railway, built more than 140 years ago. The unique tourist train will take you to the underground network of karst corridors, galleries and halls. During an hour-and-a-half-long guided tour, you will learn about all of the most important karst features: the largest, 16-metre-high stalagmite known as the Skyscraper, the crystal white symbol of Postojna Cave – the Brilliant, the oldest underground post office in the world and the most famous underground animal – the olm or the human fish. Before hopping on your coach again to continue your journey to Opatija, you will have free time for lunch. Evening at leisure. Overnight in Opatija.

Day 6 - Opatija – Istria – Opatija (B)

Today you will explore the Istrian Peninsula, a captivating destination thanks to its hospitable people, culture and natural beauties. After arriving to the Istrian area, you will be greeted by a green and blue rhapsody, an intoxicating Mediterranean garden and a forest realm where fragrant truffles grow and history blossoms in stone alleys, courtyards and walkways.
Your first visit will be to the city of Pula, which has been the cultural centre of Istria for centuries. The guided tour will show you the city’s most important landmark – The Pula Arena – where spectacular events such as concerts and festivals take pace. You will also learn about the ancient Forum square and the Temple of Augustus. On your way from Pula to Rovinj you will make a stop at a local olive oil producer to learn about their way of work and tradition, also to have a chance to taste their well-known olive oil.
Your next stop is Rovinj, Istria’s coastal star attraction and an intensely charming place. The old town is contained within an egg-shaped peninsula, webbed with steep cobbled streets and small squares, and punctuated by a tall church tower rising from the highest point. Originally an island, it was only connected to the mainland in 1763 when the narrow channel separating it was filled. After enough free time to explore the city on your own, you will return to Opatija. Overnight Opatija.
Day 7 – Opatija - Plitvice Lakes (B, L)
May 11
Upon arrival to the area of Plitvice and enjoying lunch at one of the local restaurants, you will go on a guided tour of Croatia’s top natural attractions – Plitvice Lakes. The National Park is a glorious expanse of forested hills and turquoise lakes Within the boundaries of this heavily forested national park, 16 crystalline lakes tumble into each other via a series of waterfalls and cascades. The mineral-rich waters carve through the rock, depositing tufa in continually changing formations. Clouds of butterflies drift above the 11 miles (18km) of wooden footbridges and pathways that snake around the edges and across the rumbling water. Enjoy free time in the afternoon after the tour. Overnight.

Day 8 – Plitvice - Split (B, L)

Drive from Plitvice towards Split with a stop at Stella Croatica Ethno Village where you will enjoy a traditional meal and a tour of the estate. Upon arrival to Split you will have time to check-in before you meet your local guide who will provide a walking tour of Split with entrance to the Cellars of the Diodetian Palace. Split is a beautiful Dalmatian city, always buzzing and exuberant, with just the right balance of tradition and modernity – the perfect place to see Dalmatian Life as it’s really lived. Enjoy the story of how this 17-centuries old city developed, which to this day lures with its rich tradition, glorious history and beauty of its natural and cultural heritage. Evening at leisure. Overnight in Split.

Day 9 – Split – Hvar – Split (B, L)

You will start today’s adventure by taking a ferry from Split to Hvar Island for a full day tour of the island that many consider the jewel of the Dalmatian coast. Hvar Town is the capital and largest settlement of the island.
Its rich Venetian architecture harks back to its glorious cultural past, while people watching on the largest square in the Dalmatia is a very popular activity today. The rich cultural heritage which includes the oldest public theatre in Europe continues today with the Hvar Summer Festival. Here you will have a guided walking tour of Hvar with an English-speaking guide. Hop on the coach again to drive to a local estate to enjoy a delicious home-made meal and explore more of the island’s traditional lifestyle. Return to Split by ferry in the evening. Overnight in Split.
Day 10 – Split - Dubrovnik (B)

On our way from Split to Dubrovnik you will make a stop in Ston for personal discoveries of this charming town, famous for the salt pans, oysters and the remarkable 5.5 km defensive wall that links them. You will have free time for lunch in one of its restaurants well-known for sea food, before continuing toward Dubrovnik. Check into your hotel and enjoy an evening of leisure. Overnight in Dubrovnik.

Day 11 – Dubrovnik (B, D)

It is time to visit Dubrovnik, often referred to as the Pearl of the Adriatic. A sense of awe will descend when you see the beauty of Dubrovnik’s old town, with its ancient city walls, baroque buildings and the shimmer of the Adriatic. Your guided walking tour with an English-speaking guide will include the city walls, the Rector’s Palace, Lovrijenac fort and Dubrovnik’s cable car ride to the Srdj mountain which without doubt offers the best views of Dubrovnik and the surrounding area and islands. This evening, join your group for a farewell dinner at a local restaurant in Dubrovnik. Overnight in Dubrovnik.
Day 12 – Dubrovnik (B)

We reserve the right to deviate from the tour itinerary, inclusions or hotels should circumstances dictate. If a hotel is not available, we reserve the right to substitute a hotel of similar rating.
Cancellations: 91 days and over prior to departure – loss of per person deposit, 90 – 61 days prior to departure – 50% per person of the total trip cost, 60 – 45 days prior to departure 75% per person of the total trip cost, 45 – Day of departure/no show – 100% per person of the total trip cost.
Additional supplier penalties may apply depending on the date of cancellation.
Amendments: An administration fee of $125 per person may apply to any changes made to your booking once confirmed, including but not limited to changes in pre/post trip accommodation and transfers.
