On arrival at Cape Town International Airport we will clear immigration and collect our luggage - documents will be provided - private transfer to the Commodore Hotel. The Commodore Hotel is located in the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, perfectly positioned against the stunning backdrop of Table Mountain and the Atlantic Ocean providing easy access to top places to visit in Cape Town.

October 17 - Cape Town
Cape Town's vibrant city centre lies in a natural amphitheater sheltered by the wide arms of Table Mountain, Signal Hill and Lion's Head. The tour takes you on a fascinating journey through the city, before heading to the base of Table Mountain. Travel by cable car to the top of the mountain, enjoying spectacular, panoramic views of the city and its mountainous surrounds. This evening join your group for a Welcome Dinner at Den Ankar Restaurant. Drinks are not included.

October 18 - Cape Town
Visit the Cape Point Nature Reserve. Follow the curves of the Atlantic coastline along magnificent Marine Drive, past the Twelve Apostles, all the way to the quaint fishing village of Hout Bay. Then wind your way towards the Cape Point Nature Reserve, hugging the spectacular cliff sides of Chapman's Peak Drive. Catch a ride up the funicular for a view of the place where the two oceans meet, then visit Boulders Beach to view the penguin colony.

October 19 - Cape Town
Depart the city and enter the Wineland region of Stellenbosch for a leisurely exploration of the historic wine route towns. Your private tour includes a wine tasting and lunch at Delaire Graaf Restaurant (excluding drinks). In the afternoon enjoy leisure time in the town of Stellenbosch. English speaking guide throughout your day. Evening at leisure.

October 20 - Cape Town
Morning visit to Robben Island once used by the South African government as a prison for political prisoners and convicted criminals. It is here that Nelson Mandela was imprisoned before the fall of apartheid. Tour includes entrance fees, ferry transfer and local historic guide on the island. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure.

October 21 - Kapama Private Game Reserve
Breakfast at the hotel. Private transfer from the hotel to the airport. Domestic flight from Cape Town to Hoedspruit. Transfer to Kapam River Lodge and check in. Enjoy lunch and a bit of leisure time before setting out for a late afternoon game drive. Dinner at the lodge this evening.
Kapama Private Game Reserve offers authentic African safari experiences, stretching across 12,000 hectares. Kapama is known for its diverse wildlife experiences and is home to the big five. With two daily game drives, fascinating encounters with the prolific wildlife is ensured. This contemporary private game lodge is in the Greater Kruger National Park region.
All meals, coffee, snacks, game drives in open safari vehicles, accompanied by experienced rangers, a selection of local drinks and water while on the activities and conservation levy included.

October 22 - 23 | Kapama Private Game Reserve
Early morning game drive and late afternoon game drive daily. Breakfast, lunch and dinners at the lodge. Leisure time mid-morning and early afternoon. Kapama River Lodge affords uninterrupted views of this game rich, Big-5 reserve. The central guest entertainment areas include a swimming pool, lounge, bar, library and curio shop.

October 24 - Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe
Private transfer to Mpumalanga Airport for your flight to Livingston. Private transfer to Zimbabwe crossing the Zambian border and onwards to hotel. Check into Llala Lodge. This evening, join your group for a dinner cruise on the Zambezi River. A variety of game is consistently spotted, such as hippo, crocodiles as well as a vast plethora of bird species. Overnight at the Llala Lodge, where you can relax in luxurious style - listening to the meditative rhythm of the Great Zambezi as you drift off to sleep.

Zimbabwe - Ilala Lodge is located on the border of Victoria Falls. This past year, we had Hippos in the garden in the evening!

Depart for a private morning tour of the falls. The afternoon, join your group for lunch at the Lookout Cafe (lunch at own expense)

The Victoria Falls - Now in its 150 millionth year, is truly an awe inspiring experience - the sight, the sound, the smell; the humbling feeling that here indeed is Nature's Supreme Masterpiece. No photograph can begin to depict the reality and nothing prepares you for your first sight. A qualified guide who provides a brief history of the falls as well as detail of the flora, fauna, bird & wildlife will accompany you through the Rainforest.
Optional visit to the Elephant Sanctuary and Orphanage -a safe haven to a myriad of orphaned and injured elephants. The elephant encounter will give you the opportunity to unobtrusively interact with some of the biggest personalities in Africa. You will venture out into the bush to spend time with the elephant and the sight of the gentle grey mammals up close and personal. Inquire for price of optional excursion.

October 26 - Chobe Game Lodge, in Chobe National Park, Botswana
Private transfer to Chobe Game Lodge. Kasane border crossing from Zimbabwe to Botswana. Check into Chobe Game Lodge. Enjoy lunch at the lodge and afternoon tea before setting off for an afternoon game activity. Dinner at the lodge.
All meals, scheduled activities, refreshments, local spirits and wines, mini bar, laundry service, national park fees included during your stay at the lodge.
The Chobe River forms the northern boundary of the Chobe National Park, renowned for its divers and abundant game viewing opportunities. This section of the park is best known for its dense concentration of wildlife including elephant and hippo populations, and the waters attract all manner of game including large herds of buffalo and the lions that prey on them. A visit to this area guarantees close encounters with an array of African wildlife.

Botswana - Chobe Game Lodge - this is my favourite! The lodge is set within Chobe National Park, Botswana (the only lodge within the National Park) and sits alongside the Chobe River.
October 27 - Chobe Game Lodge, Botswana
Early morning wake up call. Tea, coffee, muffins, rusks and fruits served. Depart for a morning game activity. Return to the lodge for a full breakfast. Mid-morning boat safari. Return to the lodge for lunch. Afternoon tea is served on the deck (weather permitting). Afternoon game activity followed by dinner at the lodge. Evening at leisure.

October 28 - Chobe Game Lodge | Depart on overnight flight home

Group price is based on minimum of 12 guests. Trips with less than 10 guests may be subject to cancellation.
We have confirmed all accommodation and services. Pricing has not been firmed from two of the lodges. Should we have an increase in price we will advise and offer a refund of the deposit you have paid should you wish to cancel. We do not anticpate any price increase.
Personalize your Vacation: There is plenty of opportunity to personalize your travel arrangements. Further Afield Travel and Tours can provide group airfare and additional nights at the beginning or end of your tour. Please inquire.
Travel insurance is required for all guests covering all applicable dates of travel. This insurance must cover trip interruption, personal injury, medical expenses, evacuation and repatriation coverage including during pandemic events. Proof of insurance is required.

Cancellations: 91 days and over prior to departure - loss of per person deposit(s), 90 - 61 days prior to departure - 60% per person of the total trip cost, 60 - 31 days prior to departure 90% per person of the total trip cost, 30 days to day of departure/no show - 100% per person of the total trip cost. An administration fee is applicable to all cancellations.
Additional supplier penalties may apply depending on the date of cancellation.
Amendments: An administration fee of $125 may apply to any changes made to your booking once confirmed, including but not limited to changes in pre/post trip accommodation and transfers. Please note that name changes are not allowed and flight changes are subject to availability and airline policies.
Refunds: No refund is available if cancellations occur after the trip has commenced or in respect to any trips, accommodation, meals or any other services not utilized.
Itinerary Changes & Trip Cancellation: Further Afield Travel and Tours reserves the right to vary itineraries should circumstances dictate, as well as cancel or reschedule any tour departure in accordance with operating requirements, or circumstances beyond its control. The advertised tours require minimum numbers to depart. Should these not be met, Further Afield Travel and Tours reserves the right to cancel arrangements.
Trip Membership: Any person aged 12 or more is eligible, through if less than 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. The Travel Director may at his/her discretion, require any person to withdraw from any trip if he or she deems the person’s acts or conduct offensive or a nuisance to other passengers, and we shall have no further liability.
Air: International Air Tickets are NOT included and is an additional cost.
Baggage Allowance: Dimensions, weight restrictions will be dependent on airline terms. Charges may be levied by the airlines for checked baggage or in the event baggage limits are exceeded.
